As plans for the 30th anniversary celebration of Akwa Ibom State rounded up, the Speaker of the House of Assembly in the State, Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke has been selected for honour by the Udom Emmanuel led government in the state, during one of the events lined up for the celebration.
This was communicated to the Speaker through a letter signed by the governor and addressed to him. According to the letter, Luke’s selection for the honour was based on his “notable contributions to youth empowerment and development in Nigeria”.
The letter also hinted that the award ceremony is scheduled to hold on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Le Meridien Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort, Nwaniba, Uyo by 7pm.
It would be recalled that Onofiok Luke has, over the years, been at the forefront of advocacy for youth empowerment, development and inclusion in governance. His advocacy in this regard has earned more credibility from his struggles and support towards youth development.
