Politics: What Gov Udom Emmanuel Told Saraki About PDP will shock You

Ahead of the 2019 general elections, Governor Emmanuel has commended the Senate President, Bukola Saraki on his decision to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which he said is his real home.
He stated this on Friday, at the Government House Exco Chambers, during a solidarity visit on him by the Senate President.
He thanked Senator Saraki for his show of love through his visit to the state, asserting that the APC was a mere alliance, as against the position of the PDP as a firmly rooted family with the genuine concern of the wellbeing of Nigerians.
He also charged the Senate boss to remain focused, saying “If you don’t have anything to offer, nobody will attack you.
“You are being tackled because you are about scoring a goal. So don’t take that for granted, count it all for joy and it’s all a blessing.”
Gov Emmanuel assured that Akwa Ibom is PDP and remains unshakened despite developments in the polity in recent times.
“I also want to assure you that the party is 98% intact.”
“You have fought a good fight. Ride on. You have the support of the masses of this country.” Governor Emmanuel assured.
Earlier, the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki had expressed optimism that the second term bid of Governor Udom Emmanuel is assured.
Sen. Saraki particularly thanked Akwa Ibom people for the warm reception at the airport despite the rain, and encouraged Governor Emmanuel not to be distracted but remain focused and continue to serve his people.
According to him, “the entire members of the National Assembly are strongly and fully with you. We know you have served your people well.
“Within the few years in office, you have shown your capacity and leadership skills. It is not easy to lead and rise above, and behave like a leader despite provocations. That is a sign of leadership.
“The people of Akwa Ibom have spoken in very strong languages that they are behind you. I want to encourage you to move ahead and continue to work hard and serve your people.

“Events will continue to unfold and continue to show you because you mean well for your people.”
Speaking further, the Senate President assured that “We in Abuja will continue to work and support you and we shall come again when your people shall give you a sound rewarding second term to continue to serve them.”
Saraki expressed joy that the people of Akwa Ibom have a dynamic, young and focused Governor who will lead them to the Promise Land.
“It will be my pleasure to come back when we shall discuss politics. With Governors like you in the state, your cabinet members, members of the Assembly, and seeing Senators and former Governors working with you is a good sign.
“It means you are a team player. It means you carry everybody along with you, respect your leaders and have your focus and attention on the people of Akwa Ibom and you can never fail them,” Sen. Saraki stated.
